The Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) facilitates the promotion of community – based policing as it provides varying services to the Arlington community. In addition, the CPU supports the functions of the police department through research and preventative programs to reduce the incidence of crime in Arlington. Mission Statement

The mission of the Crime Prevention Unit is to foster an educational and informative relationship with the community, divisions within the Arlington Police Department, and other regional law enforcement agencies. The community shall be served by providing information on the most current practices of crime prevention. Citizens shall be empowered to incorporate appropriate crime prevention techniques in their respective communities.
