YOUTH SERVICES SECTION

Part of the The Police Department's Youth Services Section, the School Resource Officers (SRO) Unit also works closely with the Arlington Independent School District. The unit currently includes 18 officers and three sergeants with extensive training in school-related topics. We believe that our partnership exemplifies the highest level of community policing and problem oriented policing concepts.
 
All secondary schools in the city have assigned SROs. Assignments mirror our department's Geographic Policing philosophy and are divided into three districts:
