Weed & Seed Program

What is Weed & Seed?

Community Connection Events

Weed & Seed is a federal program through the U.S. Department of Justice Community Capacity Development Office. The Arlington Police Department has recently made application with the U.S. DOJ seeking a Weed & Seed designation status. In order to apply, we have brought together a diverse group representing local government, social service, faith communities and area residents to form a Steering Committee. Our goal is to work together to reduce crime, address the challenges affecting our residents and the physical deterioration of structures in the community.

Weed and Seed is a strategy that has four components:
Law Enforcement
Community Policing
Prevention, Intervention & Treatment
Neighborhood Restoration
